Shanghai Juss Basketball Club Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as the 'Club') is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Juss Sports Development (Group) Co., Ltd. The Club is the only professional basketball club in Shanghai that participates in the CBA League (China Basketball Association), and is the basketball team representing Shanghai to participate in the National Games. Shanghai Juss Basketball Club represents the highest level of basketball in Shanghai and is one of the shining name cards of the city sports development in Shanghai. The Club was found in 1996 by the Shanghai Men's Basketball Team, which was founded in the 1950s. The team was successfully promoted to the A-League when it was founded, and after winning the CBA championship in 2002, Yao Ming and Liu Wei joined the ranks of China's top basketball players. In 2019, Shanghai Oriental Basketball Club Co., Ltd., was wholly acquired by Jiushi Group. On February 1, the club leadership was set up, and the party branch was set up. On May 24, Shanghai Oriental Basketball Club Co., Ltd., officially changed its name to Shanghai Juss Basketball Club Co., Ltd., marking the Shanghai men's basketball team entering the “Jiushi Era”. On October 17th, the party branch of Shanghai Oriental Basketball Club Co., Ltd., was officially renamed as the party branch of Shanghai Juss Basketball Club Co., Ltd. On November 22, the union of Shanghai Juss Basketball Club Co., Ltd., was formally established. Juss Group attaches great importance to the work of the club, and in 2020, the Club was incorporated into the management sequence of enterprises directly under the Group to increase resource support and elevate reform and development efforts. The main task of the Club is to operate the team and undertake the CBA league, with the goal of winning the best result in the league, with sports culture and entertainment as the carrier of competitive sports events as the main line of business, by strengthening market promotion, building marketing systems and team capacity building,integrating intangible assets and business resources, building core competitiveness as a whole, actively exploring a healthy and sustainable way of high-quality development, striving to build Shanghai into a benchmark club of competitive sports in China, and helping Shanghai to build itself into an internationally-known sports city.
